More Who

My mum doesn't know this yet, but this set of Doctor Who cookie cutters is a sort of belated Christmas present.

Now to make some cookies!

Handiwork

I have set myself quite a task, handstitching a quilt top together. So I actually had already machine stitched sets of four triangles to make up the squares, but there is still a lot of stitching to be done!

My hand stitching will either improve with all this practice, or get steadily worse. I hope it's the former!

By the bonnie, bonnie banks...

Today was a trip out to Loch Lomond. The train to Balloch and then a walk along a small part of this huge loch. The water was very high, covering the path in areas which made walking interesting at times.

Reading

I'm currently reading a book by one of my favourite authors, Kate Forsyth. The book is an historical novel about a girl called Dortchen Wild who grew up living next door to the Grimm family.

Day Trip to Falkirk

Decided I needed to get out of Glasgow during the Christmas Break, so took myself off to Falkirk for the day. Only about 20 minutes on the train meant it was nice and easy to do.

The Falkirk Wheel is a boat lift that links two of Scotland's canals. I got to see it in action lifting a canal boat from the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Union Canal.

A short walk away is part of the Antonine Wall, a remnant of the Roman occupation. Amazing to see two engineering feats close together in distance, but far apart in time!

Travelling through Time

Unlike The Doctor I may be taking the slow path but I am still travelling through both time and space, a fact that New Year always reminds me of. This mini TARDIS was a christmas present from a friend.

Starting Over

So it has been a long time since I posted on here, and a lot has changed since then. The biggest thing is moving to Glasgow to study a Masters degree.

I don't really know how starting this blog again will go, or even really the form it will take, but I want to attempt a photo-a-day challenge, which I have tried once before but didn't make the whole year. So this might end being all I post here, we will see...
